  1. Hi Jhai,

I know about World War I, at least the US involvement in the war. I was wondering, what is ANZAC Day?

    Kind regards,
    Mrs. Watanabe

    1. Hello Tracy

Well, I can tell you that, being from the same school. ANZAC Day is a day to remember all the soldiers from Australia/New Zealand that died in World War I against Turkey and a couple of other countries. You can do more research if you want. It is on the 25th of April. It has been 100 years so that is what makes this year so special. For me it's really sad because I am in New Zealand and over 18,500 people died and 40,000 were injured. Actually, I don't think that's right, I think that was between the countries but oh well. I don't know much because I am just 10 years old. Haha!

      Sincerely,
      Bella

    2. Hi Bella,

That is a very important day! We have Memorial Day and Veteran's Day in the USA. Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces. Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans, observed on November 11th, which was the end of World War I.

Do you, Jhai, or anyone think there's anything else I should know about ANZAC Day?

      Kind regards,
      Mrs. Watanabe
